This week, educators and staff at Lawrenceburg Community Schools Corporation are participating in a multi-day HANDS in Autism® Intensive Training, and the first day set a strong tone for the days ahead.
The HANDS in Autism® mode, focuses on providing practical, evidence-based strategies to support individuals with autism spectrum disorder and related needs. The training emphasizes structured teaching, proactive behavior supports, and collaborative problem-solving, all grounded in real-world application.
On Monday, participants engaged in hands-on activities and interactive instruction designed to build their confidence and capacity in supporting students with diverse learning profiles. The atmosphere was one of collaboration, reflection, and a shared commitment to inclusive education.
Feedback from the first day was overwhelmingly positive-100% of participants indicated they either “liked” or “completely liked” the session, reflecting a strong sense of satisfaction and engagement with the content and delivery.
Here’s what some participants shared after the first day:
“A lot of important information and really can take it all in and take it back to the classroom with me to help the kids most effectively.”
“All of the instruction and activities were useful. The speaker did a great job.”
These comments reflect the value of the training and the enthusiasm of our educators to bring new tools and insights back to their classrooms.
With several more days of learning ahead, we’re excited to see how this experience continues to shape and strengthen our approach to supporting all learners.
