The HANDS in Autism 3-Day Early Childhood Development Training is an intensive program focused on providing hands-on experience and coaching in an in-person or online classroom environment. This training, which includes children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), emphasizes practical strategies for supporting student learning in various settings, such as academics, communication, independence, social skills, and emotional regulation.
The training covers several key areas:
Day 1: Visual Structure, Educational Assessment, Data Collection, and Goal Writing
Day 2: Skills Teaching, Prompting, Tasks & Adaptations, Social Skills Teaching
Day 3: Behavior Intervention and Generalization
This training is part of the HANDS in Autism Interdisciplinary Training and Resource Center, which offers a full continuum of learning and service opportunities for individuals, families, and professionals. HANDS provides hands-on training, coaching, and consultations. The goal is to build capacity and improve outcomes for individuals with autism and other developmental and behavioral challenges.
